High PR Back-Links

Now I want to discuss something that is on a lot of marketers minds lately.  Back-linking.

A back-link is a link that goes from somebody else's site to your site.  The reason they are so valued for natural search engine optimization is that Google grants a higher ranking to sites that have lots of back-links...in particular back-links that are from relevant websites and from websites that have good page rank.

Sin #7: Not Aggressively Marketing Your Blog

Bloggers today are savvy marketers, and being a savvy marketer they understand the rule: market or die. When I say “marketing” I do not mean “advertising”. Advertising is just a small part of the overall marketing process. Today it’s just not enough to have better content (or different content) for that mater to get noticed, picked up and praised. It takes a lot more than building a better mousetrap. In fact, if you’re new to blogging I’d recommend that you spend 60% of your time promoting your blog and only 40% of the time to write new content. If this means you cannot put up one post a day it’s okay.

Sin #6: Not Aggressively Building a Subscriber List

No offline magazine, newspaper or publication can survive without a core of loyal readers. The same goes for your blog. The faster you can build a list of blog subscribers, the faster your blog gains momentum and popularity. There are 2 “normal” ways of doing this:

Sin #5: Not Getting High-Quality One-Way Links Early

Content is important, but if you want to make money fast you need to get one-way link to your blog as fast as possible. This may mean that you have less time to write content, but here’s my reason for this:

Sin #4: Not Choosing the Right Monetization Model

Here’s what happens to a new blogger…
  1. One day they come across a blog that talks about making money online from Adsense or affiliate programs, and they are impressed
  2. They then immediately create their own blogs, thinking they are going to get as rich as the blogger they read about
  3. After blogging for 6 months, they wonder why they are not making as much money as they thought they would, and tell themselves they just need more time
  4.  “More time” is a myth, and when they realize how much effort they have been putting compared to how much money they are actually making, they quit.

Sin #3: Not Planning a Keyword / SEO Strategy

They say: “Write great content and the trafic will come”
I say: “Plan the creation of your content and the trafic wil come”
By “planning” I mean to do the proper keyword research. A “keyword” is simply a sear term entered into Google or other search engines when someone is looking for information. By doing research, you can identify the most popular search terms entered into the top search engines for any given niche market or topic.

Sin #2: Not Choosing the Right Topic & Approach

Blogging is a labor of love. You’l never make it if you don’t love your blog topic of the market you choose to be in. Faking it can only get you that far. If you hate what you’re writing about, or at least just not passionate enough about it, you wil give up blogging sooner than you think. Writing one post a day is easy if you love the topic, but a total nightmare when you don’t.

Sin #1: Not Getting Your Own Domain and Hosting

A lot of people, despite the amount of good advice freely available out there, commit the ultimate sin by trying to save a few bucks.  Most people go to Blogspot.com or Wordpress.com, set-up a free blog, and start pumping out content day after day without thinking of the consequences. Then one day the truth hits them smack on the face and they wonder why they never saw it coming.

7 Fatal Mistakes of Blogging

According to Gobala Krishnan, an internet marketer and the owner GobalaKrishnan.com and ProfitBlogger.com, it now seems to appear a wide range of very disturbing trends that should not be followed. These trends determine whether you will survive in the first year you start blogging or not. 99% of bloggers are not able to survive and eventually stop.
